Augustina Wang
Augustina Wang (b. 1999, New York, NY) is a painter who lives and works in New York City. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI (2022). Wang’s paintings grapple with and dissect the uncanniness and otherworldly aspects of girlhood, diasporic memory, myth-making, and world-building. She is deeply inspired by the women in her family, and the nature of inherited trauma, rites of passage, and utopian thinking and healing.
Her work has been exhibited by Sow & Tailor (Los Angeles, CA) and Harper’s Gallery (New York, NY), as well as included at the Felix Art Fair and Korea International Art Fair (forthcoming). Her work has also been shown with Strada (New York, NY), PM/AM Gallery (London, UK), and WOAW Gallery (Hong Kong).Wangwas artist-in-residence at the Moosey Residency (Norwich, UK) and recipient of the Florence Leif Award.
