Alic Brock (b. Dayton, OH) is a self-taught artist based in Atlanta. Working with ultra-precision in his airbrush technique, Brock “chops and screws” his subject matter, taking iconic images that he finds online and manipulating them first with computer software and then in real-life, skewing his stencils to create an enchanting uneasiness in his paintings. Alic favors pop-culture icons like basketball players and musicians, but he doesn’t shy away from art-historic subjects, like a Man Ray photograph, or more obscure athletes, like runners and wrestlers, whose energetic movement Brock exalts and amplifies. Working with a hyper-saturated color palette, Brock’s paintings, with their repetition and inversion, serve as a meditation on digital communication and visual transmission.
Exhibition continues through October 21, 2023.

Lloyd Benjamin: Objects and Silhouettes
08.05.23 - 09.02.23
Wolfgang Gallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibition, Objects and Silhouettes, by American artist Lloyd Benjamin.
Lloyd Benjamin's work reads as tectonic abstractions. By drawing inspiration from the impressions of his studio practice, Benjamin's artwork manifests impermanence, rhythm, and improvisation through silhouetted pilasters both absent and present. Benjamin's exploration of form and the interplay between space and materiality manifests on paper, collage, and sculpture.
Benjamin's vibrant outlines by spray enamel, drips, stains, and calligraphic lines infuse his compositions with energy and fluidity. Benjamin uses his studio as a transformative space for creative exploration, echoing the dynamic processes observed in the studio of abstract expressionist sculptor, David Smith. Through his chosen techniques and materials, Benjamin achieves a harmonious balance between structure and spontaneity. His art invites viewers to embark on a visual journey that reflects on the influence of an explorative process.
Through July 22nd
Wolfgang Gallery is pleased to announce From the Mouths of Babes, from Polish American artist Jay Miriam.
In her large scale oil paintings, Brooklyn-based artist Jay Miriam finds beauty in the mundane. She examines what lies in the ordinary, captivated by the seemingly small moments of life. Miriam's contemplative practice involves painting from memory or life, with bold mark making and loose brushstrokes. Known for her portrayals of nude feminine figures, Miriam's subjects exude a playful sense of mystery.
Jay Miriam received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting, Photography, and Printmaking from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Master of Fine Art from the New York Academy of Art. Miriam lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

Works included in THE BLOOMING SKIN continue Zachari Logan’s exploration of interrelation, mortality and embodied representations of land. The drawings and paintings that comprise this exhibition employ a mixture of observed, recalled and imagined forms as metaphors for exuberance, resilience and queer re-wilding. References to art history, literature and personal experience exist alongside meditations on historical personages as wide ranging as Goethe, Joan of Arc and Austrian painter, Oscar Kokoschka.
